Jessica Marchand

Jessica Marchand was born and raised in metro-Vancouver, Canada. After graduating high-school, she moved to NYC to study at Peridance Center in their two-year Certificate program where she majored in Ballet & Contemporary. Her studies also included Partnering, Modern techniques, Street styles, Theatre dance, Jazz, Videography, Dance History, Anatomy, and Choreography. Post-graduation, Jessica pursued freelancing around NYC, preforming with multiple project based companies including Project TAG, The "Unnamed Company", and most recently collaborated with artist Bruno Catalano for his gallery debut on Madison Avenue. She has now moved back to Vancouver to train with Lamondance Company. Jessica has performed works by Nicole Von Arx, Tushrik Fredricks, Hussein Smko, Cesar Brodermann, Gregory Dolbashian, Igal Perry, Lauren Cox, among others. Aside from performing, she is also exploring her own choreographic endeavours. Her own work has been performed in various festivals across NYC taking place at The Tank, Arts on Site, the KnJ Theatre at Peridance, the PinkFrog Cafe, The Wandering Barman, Greenspace, and Dancewave. She has most recently had the opportunity to produce her own show which took place at Arts on Site on August 29th 2024, in collaboration with Natalia Sanchez. "Rocking Chair Tales" is a physical narrative reflecting upon womanhood, family, immigration, childhood, and the psychology involved in such. Questioning “How does culture vs. Person come together?. Following a successful initial production, Jessica plans to continue developing the show moving forward.
