Andrea Isea Galindo
Andrea (she/her) was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela where she began her training in ballet when she was 6 years old with La Academia de Ballet Fanny Montiel. After immigrating to Canada in 2011, she started training at the Caulfield School of Dance, training in new forms of dance such as tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and musical theatre. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts, giving her the opportunity to work with choreographers such as Judith Garay, Henry Daniel, Antonio Somera, Amber Funk Barton and Anya Saugstad. Andrea utilises this time of growth to learn as much as she can from other artists while developing her own artistic voice in the process. She is currently exploring her own style of movement and how to balance her creativity with structural limitations while choreographing. Her future aspiration is to pay it forward by sharing the knowledge she has gathered throughout her life with other artists.
